Make $3000 a month doing nothing

Beautiful south Cocoa Beach sunrise July 2, 2011.

Rent a beautifully furnished, 3 year old direct ocean penthouse for $2500 per month. The owner purchased this unit in 2008 for high $700,000s and put down $147,000 plus closing costs. He furnished the unit with expensive furniture and accessories. It is now offered as a rental for $2500 per month or about $3000 a month less than the actual cost to the landlord (mortgage, taxes, condo fee and insurance). Alternate post title: "How to make a small fortune - start with a larger fortune."

“My personal belief is that Enron stock is an incredible bargain at current prices, and we will look back a couple of years from now and see the great opportunity that we currently have.”

  1. Ya think there is any correlation between this post and the June 25th post? How many Chinese do you figure ran out to buy Enron stock after Ken Lay's endorsement?

  2. Ken's comments about Enron's stock during Enron's implosion and demise were eerily similar to NAR's 2006 campaign slogan "Now is a great time to buy or sell a house." At least they were half right.

  3. Don't realtors always think it's a great time to buy or sell a house? What am I missing here?

  4. There is the occasional individual Realtor that will tell you otherwise. When it comes to Realtor associations like NAR and FAR, well, you know. A shark stops swimming and ...

  5. In Larry's defense. The truth be told, each of the parties in a transaction have to think the advantage is on their side before a deal can take place. No matter if it is a Stock sale or Real Estate, nobody I know will buy or sell to help the other guy or the broker out.

  6. Point taken. And if I was in the market for property in Cocoa Beach-Cape Canaveral Larry would be the first person I would talk to.

Larry, your candor is refreshing and enlightening. Keep up the good work, I really enjoy reading your blog!
